7/10 stars? My PBX Amsterdam recap

PBX Europe 2025 was a ride. Let’s do a quick recap together:
The Location:
Amsterdam = gorgeous. The venue = also gorgeous… but also way out in the middle of nowhere. Think 25 minutes from downtown and still a hike from the airport hotels. Beautiful setups and flow, but logistics were tricky and the trip was $$$ for a lot of folks.
What I missed the most about this PBX was having the hotel attached to the venue. One of my favorite things is being able to walk into the lobby and just see people you know. Hang out, network, etc... Effortlessly. Instead this time everyone was scattered everywhere. You didn't get that option.
Many people trekked to the downtown core everyday to do things since that's where the vibe was.
I love Amsterdam but I hope for the next one they pick a combined venue/hotel location.
I would also love for this to be in a new city every year which honestly the North American one should also do it.
The Vibe:
For new booth owners, this show is gold you’ll see fresh vendors, compare gear, and get your first taste of the community. The education was on point and there was a little bit of everything for everyone.
For seasoned owners? Honestly, it’s more of a networking playground (and a tax write-off). The real ROI is in convos with peers, swapping ideas, and making white-label connections. That part? Priceless.
Vendors & Gear Highlights:
-
Enclosed booth takeover: Every booth dropped their second enclosed option. The standout? Nova Everybooth.
-
Portable, breaks down into 10 pieces, solo-setup friendly.
-
Higher price tag but perfect for luxury weddings + big corporate events.
-
Compared to Cabina, Novo = flexibility + solo ops, Cabina = corporate powerhouse (but needs an SUV + two people)
-
AI Updates Everywhere
Booth.Events nailed it with Nano Banana. Super fast, scary accurate. Breeze also crushed it with next-level AI customization.
FotoMaster previewed a new visual editor + AI DrawBots that sketch images from prompts (so cool)
Classes & Turnout:
Some solid speakers, though sessions were short. Around 500 tickets sold, but with the massive space, it felt a little empty. Still, great step up from London’s feedback.
Overall:
Would I go again if it’s Amsterdam next year? Probably not.
Would I go if they keep rotating countries? 100%, if only for the excuse to travel + network.
👉 My rating: 7/10. Great for newbies, valuable for networking vets, but not the must-attend of the year unless you love the destination.
